How to Install

Tree Staple™ Stabilizers with B&B, Container Stock, or Palm Trees:

Step 1

Prepare the planting hole as you would normally. If the root ball is B&B, leave the burlap intact, if it’s container stock, assure that the tree has sufficient soil around the roots that doesn’t fall off when you remove the tree from the container. Heel the plant’s root ball into place.

Step 2

If provided, remove the plastic safety caps from the stabilizers and set them aside. Set each staple opposite each other and up against the outside edge of the root ball, see diagram below. The shorter prong should be positioned over the root ball, halfway between the trunk and the root ball’s outer edge.

Step 3

Using a sledgehammer, start driving the long prong of the first stabilizer into the ground, keeping the stabilizer perpendicular to the top of the root ball as best as possible, if it goes askew a bit that’s ok. Start hammering back and forth between the long prong and atop the crossbar until the short prong starts to penetrate the root ball. Continue hammering the stabilizer down until the cross bar is recessed into the top of the root ball approximately 1-2 inches. Repeat for each stabilizer.

Step 4

Next, if provided, place the safety cap on the exposed end of the prong and for B&B, cut back the burlap, leaving material under the crossbars, and for container stock nothing is needed. If either root ball is lose, you can wrap additional burlap around the cross bar to create more down pressure.

Step 5

Lastly, finish planting as normal. With the simplicity and effectiveness of Tree Staple™, your newly planted tree is ready to grow and thrive!
