How to Install

Step 1

Prepare the planting site by digging a hole for the root ball's appropriate depth and width. Leaving burlap intact, heel the plant's root ball into place.

Step 2

Remove the plastic safety caps from the Tree Staple™ prongs and set them aside. Using your hands, set each staple opposite each other and against the outside edge of the root ball. The shorter prong should be positioned over the root ball, halfway between the trunk and the root ball's outer edge.

Step 3

Using a sledgehammer, drive each Tree Staple™ into the ground until the crossbar is recessed 1-2 inches below the surface of the root ball. You can alternate between hitting either prong to ensure the staples are entirely below-grade.

Step 4

Next, place the safety caps on the exposed ends of the prongs and cut back the burlap, leaving material under the crossbars.

Step 5

Lastly, fill the hole with soil, firmly packing it around the root ball until the soil level is even with the existing grade. With the simplicity and effectiveness of Tree Staple™, your newly planted tree is ready to grow and thrive!
